In complying with the policies of the Alabama State Board of Education and the Alabama Department of Post Secondary Education, every student must submit one primary form of identification from the following: an unexpired Alabama driver’s license, an unexpired Alabama identification card, and unexpired U.S. passport or an unexpired U.S. permanent resident card. If you do not have any of these, you must submit two secondary forms of identification, one of which must be a photo identification card other that those listed previously AND one additional form of identification from the following: a Certificate of Naturalization, a Social Security card, or a certified copy of a U.S. birth certificate.
Application Types
- High school graduate or GED recipient who has never enrolled in a college including Jefferson State
- Applicants who have attended another regionally accredited college
- Returning student who has not attended Jefferson State in the last 12 months
- A student who is enrolled at another institution and wants to attend Jefferson State for one semester and then return to their home institution
- Take courses while attending high school - A student who is not a U.S. citizen -Students who are not earning a grade for courses take
Students planning to enter Miles College should contact the Office of Admissions and request an Admissions Package.
An application for admission is considered when the application form, an official transcript of high school and/or college credits, a health form, immunization record, and official ACT or SAT score, have been received in the Office of Admissions. (The ACT or SAT score must be submitted before the student completes a second semester at the College. Students may immediately register for the national administering of these tests with the Counseling Center if no score is submitted at the time of admission.)
An ACT/SAT score is required for institutional scholarship consideration.
An applicant who does not complete the admissions process before the designated date is expected to bring all required materials when reporting to the Admissions Office prior to registration.
The applicant from a four-year senior high school must present credits of a total of twenty (20) acceptable units, or the equivalent, in the fields listed below :
